Snoring is very disturbing, especially for those who sleep next to you. There is a lot of couple who complained of snoring bed partner. Even in countries which the value of marriage is not so solid anymore, like in the U.S. and European countries, snoring can be a cause of divorce. This is not to frighten, but we support your desire to eliminate the habit of snoring, although usually not so easy to do. Not so easily does not mean can not, right? Snoring habits is a sign of obstructed breathing or air does not flow smoothly through the respiratory tract. This occurs when the tissues around the throat, like the tongue, soft palate and the ceiling touch each other, vibrate and produce sound that we called snoring. When we sleep, the muscles of the throat tongue and palate is usually in a relaxation (relaxed). Air flow which occurs when we breathe will vibrate this part. Brushing your teeth before sleeping is a good habit, though there are no relation proofed with snoring. Adjust sleeping position is recommended. Sleeping with different side can reduce snoring. Pillows may be in higher position, but not too high, because it can constrict your respiratory tract when sleeping. If you're fat, derive your weight until you reach a healthy weight. Avoid consumption of alcohol, sedatives, antihistamines and other drugs that have sedative effects, especially a few hours before sleeping. Do not eat heavy meals at least 3 hours before sleeping. Healthy lifestyle, including quitting smoking and taking regular exercise will improve your general health and can help you stop your snoring habit.
If you still snoring after making the above solution, you should immediately consult an ENT specialist to check your ears, nose and throat. Snoring is a chronic (going on for years) and severe enough to require medical intervention may be more serious, either through surgery or non-operative treatment. Until now I had never heard of a drug which can directly eliminate snoring habit, but there are tools that can help you reduce snoring (anti-snoring devices), such as nasal mask, which helps the flow of the air to go smoothly, the known as CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure), BiPAP (Biphasic Positive Airways Pressure) and so on. However, its use should be under the supervision of a doctor.
